Chapter 14 - Thy Parting Words
It was a dark and rainy day, thunder and lightning broke through the clouds covering the heavens like a thick blanket. As the lightning hit the earth, the old wet bricks of a lonely mansion on top of a hill  lit up brightly. The ground was muddy and hard to treverse, making it diffucult for anyone to reach or leave said mansion. It was a marvel of a building, red brick covered most of the walls, while white marble pillars made the structure. It had sandwich orange roofing and windows as clear as crystal itself. However, in this rainy day, the house was made to look haunted, an abandoned house more like. Inside , it was dark, no light sources were seen in sight, as if to try and hide its contents inside. Traversing through the front door, there was a large hall connecting every single room and staircase. The lightining broke through the glass from the windows, often lighting up the interior. Hard panting came from a small room to the left of the second floor of the house, like someone out of breath. Looking inside, there was a tall male with wet, short, blonde hair hugging a young woman with similar colour hair but with the length down to her hips, on the floor. In between them was a baby boy with gorgeous golden blonde hair like the adults covering him, silent and still. The man looked angry but not aimed at the woman and child , while the woman had tears in her eyes while clutching to the baby with care and a protective nature. The thunder happening outside made the woman jump with fear while it sent shivers down the man’s back,

“Ellenor, we can’t stay here long, they’ll find us soon” the man said with a hurried tone,

“I know Nydius, I know. But we can’t keep running, we don’t have the same strength we did while we were up there" the woman told the man, sobbing rightly,

The man looked at the child she was holding, looking at it with care, the baby looked peacefully asleep, unknowing of what laid behind him in the world. Suddenly a loud crash came from downstairs and the front door opened with force, a loud screech was heard outside, like a frustrated monster unable to find it’s prey. The man held the woman tighter, while the woman cried in fear and terror. Footsteps were heard coming through the entrance,

“One, two, no. Maybe three?” Ellenor whispered,

The footsteps suddenly split off, with two going into the living room of the house, while another came up the stairs to the second floor. Suddenly, Nydius and Ellenor stood up and backed themselves to a nearby wall, trying not to make a noise,

“Can you use Teleportation?”,

Ellenor shook her head slightly before replying “Not with him in my arms, and he wouldn’t be able to jump with us, his Element isn’t active yet”,

The man growled with frustration. He suddenly turned to the door of the small room and took out his hand, making a grasping gesture with his hand as if to hold something. Suddenly a sword appeared out of thin air into his hand, it was a beautiful golden blade with a white hilt and pummel with black highlighting. Aiming it at the front door using his right hand while his left arm and body covered the woman and child, he was prepared for someone or something to come through the entrance of the room. Suddenly a magic crest appeared on the inside of the door, lighting up the room and catching both adults with surprise. A loud crash was heard and the door blew to pieces. In that instant , the sword in Nydius’ hand disappeared as he turned around to cover the woman and child from any flying debris. An older man wearing a pure black suit came through the door, with a grin on his face and a menacing attitude,

“Found you!” he exclaimed,

“Thravis wait-" Nydius pleaded,

“I don’t want to hear nor know. You broke the rules, and that’s all I care about” the stranger said while two more magic crests started appearing in his hands,

Suddenly Nydius placed a look of anger and conjured his own crests,

“Ellenor, activate his Element, I’ll buy us some time. Then both of you get out of here!”,

“Nydi-",

“SHUT UP AND DO IT!” he ordered interrupting her,

The woman cried aloud before placing her right hand on the baby’s chest. Suddenly a large bubble shield covered the three as the stranger shot fireballs at them. As they hit the shield, they disintegrated but cracked the shield at the same time. A flurry of spells flew across the room trying to hit Nydius and Ellenor. As Nydius struggled to hold the attacks at bay, Ellenor’s hand suddenly grew brightly and the baby woke, crying. His small beautiful red eyes looking up at her made her heart warm. She let out some tears, sliding down her face, they dropped onto the baby’s face. The child slowly rose his right hand as if to wipe the tears of Ellenor’s face making Ellenor stop in shock. She looked towards Nydius, noticing the shield was on it’s last legs but the attack didn’t slow. He was struggling to hold the shield together and she knew they didn’t have much time. She looked back at the baby and placed her right index finger on his fore head. The finger lit up with golden light slightly,

“No man haveth no courage greater than this. No God haveth no power greater than thy. No priest haveth greater Faith, nor woman haveth greater love than I” she whispered,

Suddenly her finger lost its light and she looked at the child, with a look of love and a voice of goodbye,

“My dear, My son, My Red. I know you’re still to young to understand...” The woman spoke, she moved her hands through his hair and cheeks “...but whatever happens in the future, listen to the words I tell you. Run! Run away and never come back to this place",

Suddenly a heavenly light came from the strangers hands and Nydius used his body to cover Ellenor,

“Ellenor, do it now!” he shouted,

She opened her hand and a magic crest appeared, within seconds the child disappeared into nothing just before the bright light extinguished everything in the room. Ellenor shouted one last word before it all became silent,

“Run!”,
