Krypts tribe

A gallow was put into view for the whole tribe to see.  It consisted of two upright poles and a crosspiece. It also had a rope hung below in the form of a loop. A small wooden log was placed directly under the rope.
An execution was being held.

Alastor and Thaddeus came into view, wearing huge smiles.
Alfred walked towards the gallow, with his hands tied behind his back. Alfred walked closer with dead eyes and stared at the gallow before him.

Alfred turned his head to look at Alastor, hoping he'd say something. But Alastor's face showed no remorse, and his wide grin never faded. Alfred looked at him with pleading eyes, but Alastor simply shook his head sideways, telling him not to bother.

"I told you that you will die with surprise." Alastor said.
Thaddeus chuckled beside him.

Two soldiers came from behind Alfred and made him stand on the wooden log. They fastened the rope around his neck.
Alastor stepped forward and whispered: "Surprise."

He kicked the wooden log which made Alfred drop down, but the rope held him by his neck. He was out of breath, and struggled. Soon, there was no movement.

"Hang him on these walls. He will be an example for the people who disobey us." Alastor ordered.

The soldiers lowered the dead body and took it away.

"How are you brother?" Arthur asked.
"I've been better. How's Louis?" Maximillian asked.

"The same as usual. He'll be fine." Arthur said and chuckled.

"I see. Did you find out something about the attack?" Maximillian asked with worry.

"I did. I found out their symbol. It was on the dagger, Thaddeus stabbed you with." Arthur took the dagger from the table and gave it to Maximillian.

"Looks like he didn't have enough time to take it back." Arthur said.

Maximillian hummed in response.

"Anyway, I also questioned the incompetent watchmen. Those fools didn't even know that Thaddeus was coming." Arthur said with an annoyed expression.

"How so unreliable." Arthur continued.
Arthur looked at Maximillian, who looked completely spaced out.

"Max?" Arthur said gently.
No response was given.
"Max?" Arthur furrowed his eyebrows.
"Max!?" Arthur raised his voice, and finally Maximillian looked at him.

"Are you alright?" Arthur asked.
"I'm fine. I was just thinking about our army." Maximillian said sadly.

"We lost half of them. And if a war comes...." Maximillian stared into space.

"It's alright. I've already thought of that. I asked father to send us an army. That will prove to be helpful in our battle." Arthur informed as Maximillian gave a sigh of relief.

"Good thinking." Maximillian said.
"You should rest, Max." Arthur said as he stood up and Maximillian nodded his head a bit.

Arthur exited the room, and met Benicio.
"Is everything ready, Benicio?" Arthur asked in a sotto voice.

"Yes sir." Benicio replied in the same tone.

"Well then, we'll depart at night." Arthur said.
