Chapter 4
The doors suddenly barged open, revealing a rather infuriated Prince.
“How dare you relieve me from my mission?!” Arthur barged inside the throne room in a careless manner.
He stopped right in front of the stairs that were attached to the throne itself, where his brother was sitting. His aide, Benicio, ran behind him, trying to catch up to the Prince. He was wearing a nervous smile and looked as if he wanted to run away.

“Your mission?” Maximillian closed his eyes and displayed a small smile upon his face.

“Yes brother! My mission!” Arthur yelled as he took one small step forward.
Bartley was glaring deadly at Arthur. He hated the way he spoke to his own elder brother, and a Prince!
Arthur showed no remorse, despite knowing that he was in the presence of a Prince of one of the most strongest kingdoms.

Maximillian stood up calmly and walked towards the window on his right, where the beautiful view of the whole kingdom could be seen.

“I didn’t. You were too busy gossiping and I decided to assist you on your mission. People’s lives were in danger. Is that a bad thing?” Prince Maximillian said in a calm voice that boomed in the empty room. He was still wearing the same smile on his face with his eyes closed, as he was trying his best to keep his voice low, and not raise his voice at his younger brother.

“Yes! That was my mission, brother! Not yours!” It seemed like Arthur didn’t have the same intentions as his elder brother.

“Converse to the Prince with respect! He is still your broth-” Bartley was cut off by the Prince of Kaneria itself.
Maximillian raised his hand to signal Bartley to stop what he was saying, and Bartley looked down immediately, ashamed of what he did.

“The seed which is stubborn to let its shell rot, cannot bear fruits. Do not grieve. We do not own people’s lives Arthur. Mission or no mission, does not matter. What matters is the people of our kingdom, and how we safeguard it, and defend it.” Maximillian walked slowly towards Arthur with his hands wrapped behind his back.

“And dare to raise your voice at me again, and I will make sure that this will be the last step you take inside my kingdom.”
Maximillian stated calmly and opened his eyes to reveal a pair of purple eyes that seemed to pierce through Arthur’s soul. His usual smile also faded, making him look even more deadlier. Arthur gulped his own saliva, not knowing what to say next. The place fell into deep silence. Bartley felt satisfaction within him.
‘I am glad that the Prince decided to finally silence his impertinent younger brother.’ Bartley thought as he sighed heavily.

The silence was broken from a loud wail coming from outside. The Prince immediately looked at the huge clock displayed on the left wall. The clock had a border that was made up of gold. The Prince looked up and saw that it was 5 pm already.
‘That means it's….’ Prince Maximillian smiled at the thought.

He hurried outside to the person he suspected was wailing.
Bartley followed as well, and both of them hurried outside.

“Oh you have to be kidding me….” Arthur exited the room with Benicio following closely behind him.
