Chapter 27
Arthur grunted in pain as he woke up slightly, only to find himself in a prison cell. His eyes were adjusting to the new environment, taking in every single detail.
"Arthur!" Maximillian called out in a whisper. Arthur immediately looked towards him.
"Max?" Arthur tried to stand up, but his balance was still weak.
"Careful." Maximillian held him up firmly.
"Thanks." Arthur replied once he had settled.
Arthur looked around the cell.
"Where's Louis?" Arthur looked around worriedly.
"No idea. I noticed the same thing. They must have taken him somewhere." Maximillian answered, looking outside the bars of the cell.
The cell was all dark, with a ray of sunlight coming from a crack that was a bit too high.
"What should we do n-" Maximillian stopped once he noticed that Arthur was shedding tears.
"Arthur!? What's wro-"
"Father." Arthur looked at Maximillian with an expression that Maximillian had never seen before.
"Arthur-" Maximillian was cut off once again.
"Don't tell me everything's alright!" Arthur yelled.
Maximillian looked at Arthur with wide eyes because of his sudden outburst.
"Nothing is alright...." Arthur cried out.
"First mother, then father." Arthur said quietly.
"And now, they took Louis to God knows where!" Arthur raised his voice that echoed through the walls.
"Well well well. Look who woke up! Hello sleeping beauty!" Thaddeus' voice was heard from behind, as he waved at Arthur.
Arthur stood up abruptly and ran towards the bars. He slammed his fists on it in rage and anger. Thaddeus backed away with widened eyes.
"Where did you take Louis, you coward!?" Arthur yelled.
"How dare you call him that, you filthy prince!?" Another voice was heard beside Thaddeus.
Arthur looked at the unfamiliar voice and saw Alastor walking towards him.
"I...know you." Arthur looked at him with confusion.
"Ah yes! You didn't meet yet." Thaddeus walked towards Alastor.
"Alastor, meet Prince Arthur. And Prince Arthur, meet Alastor, the general of our army." Thaddeus introduced each of them with a smirk at the end.
"I will never forgive you for what you did to our soldiers....Prince Arthur." Alastor emphasized the word, Prince.
"And I will never forgive you for what you have done to my father. Both of you will pay the price dearly. The walls of this castle will be decorated with all of your heads, and the rivers that flow here, will be mixed with your blood. Nobody can save you from my claws. Let this be known! " Arthur threatened in a low, deadly voice that sent shivers down Thaddeus' spine.
"If I'm correct, in the previous wars, you have always worked with other leaders, and as for us, we were alone. You all confront us as one, and we confront you alone. And despite that fact, we have won every single war till now." Arthur said calmly.
"If I were you, Thaddeus, I would fear for my life right now, because we will make sure to drown you and the people you work with in your own blood." Arthur said in a deep voice.
Thaddeus raised his eyebrows in amazement. He was completely shocked, but he hid it with a loud fake laugh.
"Big words coming from someone who is behind bars." Thaddeus laughed hard, while Alastor smirked.
"You talk too much, Thaddeus." Maximillian commented with a slight chuckle.
Thaddeus passed a simple smile at Maximillian.
"Don't worry. I have surprises for each and every one of you. But we'll start from Louis." Thaddeus smirked.
"What are you planning on doing to him?" Arthur asked with worry.
"Oo...you look completel-"
"Answer me!" Arthur roared.
Thaddeus went silent.
"You'll see..." Thaddeus laughed.
Arthur and Maximillian looked at eachother with blank expressions.
