“Okay then, let’s go back inside. Louis must be crying.” Maximillian told Arthur as both of them
bursted into fits of laughter.
“Alright.” Arthur said once he had settled down.
Both of them turned to go back inside, but a sudden shout by Arthur stopped them from moving further.
“Arthur?” Maximillian turned towards Arthur abruptly, only to find an arrow that pierced his leg.
“Arthur!” Maximillian sprinted towards Arthur, who was gripping his leg tightly due to the pain.
“Calm down.” Maximillian tried to console Arthur. Arthur kept grunting in pain. The next arrow was aimed for Maximillian. But fortunately, he dodged it on time.
“We’re under attack!” A soldier from Maximillian’s side shouted from a distance.
“They’re here. Stay calm Arthur. Stay calm!” Maximillian shouted, as worry was evident on his face.
“This isn’t safe. Lets get out of here.” Maximillian told Arthur.
He placed Arthur’s arm around his shoulder and lifted him and Arthur grunted in pain.
They went behind the wall and Maximillian placed Arthur down.

Maximillian took out his dagger and stuck it in Arthur’s leg, next to the arrow as he tried to take out the arrow with the dagger. Arthur shouted in pain as the dagger went in.

“It’s alright. It’s almost out.” Maximillian kept saying sweet words to Arthur.

Arthur already lost way too much blood. Maximillian did the only thing he could. He ripped some fabric of his cape with the help of his dagger and tied it around Arthur’s leg to give it some pressure.

The sounds of swords and the shouts of soldiers were heard.

“I have to go and fight with them.” Maximillian said as he stood up and drew out his sword.

“Maximillian?” Arthur said as he tried his best to look up at Maximillian. Maximillian noticed this and bent down to sit in front of Arthur.
“What’s wrong?” Maximillian asked in a calm and soothing voice.

Arthur held his arm as sweat trickled down his forehead.
“Take….take me with you.” Arthur said as he grunted in pain.

“Not a chance, Arthur! Your still injur-”

“Please! Please Max…” Arthur begged with pleading eyes.

A few moments went by and Maximillian just stared.

“I’m sorry, Arthur. But I can’t risk losing my own brother.” Maximillian stood up and ran towards the battlefield. Arthur rested his head back and grunted again in pain.

Once Maximillian reached the place where the battle was held, a soldier from the enemies’ side launched an attack on him, aiming for his head. Maximillian bent down briskly and got up in a split second. Unfortunate for the soldier, his attack was in vain. In return, Maximillian sliced the soldier’s leg, making him fall on his knees. The soldier yelled in pain.
“I’ll relieve your pain.” Maximillian said in a mocking tone as he stabbed the man’s chest. The soldier fell down, lifeless.
Once all the soldiers had fallen dead, Maximillian kept one of them alive.
Maximillian took him by the collar and pulled the man towards himself.

“Who planned this ambush!? Who’s your leader!?” Maximillian asked the man, yelling for some information. Maximillian could have easily identified the underlings by their symbols on their armours, if they had one.

But there was no symbol, and there was no armour that would represent anything. All of the soldiers were just wearing a black robe and a black cloth that hid the half
lower portions of their faces.

“You think you can get something out of me? Ha! My life is for the master! And the master will have your heads, you filthy Prince!” In a flash, the soldier took out a dagger and sliced his own throat.

Maximillian was shocked by this abrupt action as he stepped back and pushed the dead soldier, causing the soldier to fall backwards.

Maximillian was silent after as he kept staring at the body in front of him. He tried to find his voice but he was shocked. He had never seen such loyalty before “Whoever this master is, It is clear that his followers have devoted their lives in serving only him.”
Maximillian said in a solemn voice.

It was quiet a few moments later. Soon enough, the sounds of someone grunting was heard behind them.

All of the soldiers of Kaneria who participated in the battle and Prince Maximillian turned their heads only to reveal Arthur leaning on Benicio.

Maximillian ran towards Arthur and placed his other free arm on his own shoulder.

“Arthur! What are you doing? Benicio, why did you bring him here? He’s injured!” Maximillian piped up quickly.

“I told him not to. But he insisted.” Benicio said with worry displayed on his face.

“Take him to Albert! Tell him to tend to his wounds fast!” Maximillian ordered. A few soldiers came
  And took Arthur from Benicio.
“Brother.” Arthur said, as his voice cracked from pain.
Maximillian turned towards Arthur.

“Thank you.” Arthur said while breathing heavily.
“Anything for you, Arthur.” Maximillian replied sweetly with a small smile.
