Hi
I'm walking in the halls the next day, my earbuds around my neck. I look up from my phone, golden curls grabbing my attention.
She smiles at me, and I melt like the Wicked Witch of the West. I bow mockingly to her, a grin on my face as I match her's. I say, "Greetings fair maiden, to the library?"
I stand up, holding the crook of my arm to her. She takes it, laughing and scarlet faced.
We walk, talking about the day. I can't look away from her. I'm sure she can hear my heart, beating as if I had just finished a marathon.
I hold the door open for her, giggles escaping from her as she walks through.
I close the door behind me, stacks of books obscuring my view.
I hear her laugh, trying to pinpoint where she is. I smirk, "Come out, come out, wherever you are."
I walk through endless paths of books, reaching all the way to the ceiling.
I get a peek of denim jeans and Hollywood curls. I hide behind a bookcase, watching her try to keep her giggles down.
I sneak up, carefully stepping over books and papers.
I get behind her and grab her shoulders. I whisper as she screeches, "Hi."
She turns her head towards me, her lips wide and showing pearly whites. She kisses my cheek, "You found me, Thomas!"
I declare, "I always will."
