What
I sit through school, gathering homework and assignments my on Chromebook.
I walk to my locker, grabbing my backpack. I dump all my things inside it, my Chromebook bag swing at my side.
Once the bell rings I sigh in relief. I walk calmly out of school, waiting until I'm half a block away to yell, "Goodbye school, hello weekend!"
I jog the rest of the way to Tessa's house, an extra hop in my step.
I ring the doorbell and wait.
I press it again and wait.
I refrain from pushing it again. My foot taped on the porch, impatient and tired. Ms. Sanders usually answers the door by now. What's taking so long?
Time seemed to play tricks on me. Seconds turn to minutes, minutes into hours.
Soon I'm sitting down on the porch's concrete steps.
I wish I knew what was going on.
I'm just about to leave when her mom finally opened the door.
I turn to her, my face hopefull.
Her face was covered in tears, her body encased in ebony. She was shaking, her eyes telling me everything.
Oh no. I stand straight up, my backpack falling off my shoulders. Pain starts to grow like a thorned rose in my chest. Oh no!
