Chapter 12
We stopped outside the farm that I passed on the school bus yesterday. So this is where Nick lived? That was probably why I felt like I belonged here. It was because we had a connection as the destined ones. We were meant to protect people and fight evil.
"I think it will be best if we all talk here. If it's okay with your mum? So that we don't have to meet back up later tonight," my mum asked.
"I'm sure it will," Bella answered and then got out of the car. We all followed her out, and my mum locked the car and we walked towards the farm.
Nick knocked on the door and his mum answered. She had very long hair the same shade as her children's and had brown eyes. You could clearly tell that this woman was their mother.
"You're late," she started to say, but then she noticed my mum and me.
"Oh, hello," she said smiling.
"We need to talk about things with Emma. There is a vampire walking around town and I think Vicky had a vision of him," my mum told her.
"Then you better come in." I followed them in. The living room was very pretty and practical. The living room walls were simply just painted white and on one side there was a displaying cupboard that displayed various of objects, but mainly ornaments and family photos. They had a 35 inch TV and in the far corner was a computer equipped with a printer.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Vicktoria. I am Jane."
"It's nice to meet you too Jane."
"I have been hearing a lot about you from Nick," his mum said when we had sat down.
"Really?" I asked wondering what he could have possibly been saying about me.
"Nothing bad don't worry. He was just telling me that you were very nice."
"I'll just call Emma to tell her to come," Mum said and went into the kitchen.
"I've made a start on the lyrics for the concert," Nick said.
"What already? Can I read them? I can try and add to them," I asked.
"Sure, just let me go get them." He ran out the room.
Bella turned to me staring like she is studying me. It kind of made me feel slightly uncomfortable. "So do you know that we are vampires?" She asked, her voice was serious.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Are you scared?" She asked.
"No, you haven't tried to attack me and you don't seem like you will. Should I be scared?" Vampires drank blood, I knew that from all the movies I've watched and books I've read. I should have been scared but her and Nick didn't frighten me. They hadn't tried to attack me and Nick was really nice. If they were like that other vampire then yes, I would have been scared of them.
"No, you shouldn't we won't attack you. Not every vampire is evil," her mum answered.
My mum re-entered the living room soon after so does Nick with a folder in his hands. He sat down next to me, flicking through the folder. Once he found what he was looking for he passed it to me. "This is what I have got so far," he said. I take the folder from him and look down at it. It was packed full of used paper.
"Wow, did you write all this? Are they other songs?" I asked him.
"They are songs, poems and unfinished stories."
"You will have to let me read them sometime. It's so much more fuller than my folder," I said.
"You write too? You will have to let me read some of your work too."
I look back down at the folder and began to read what he had written.
Spent my life hiding away
Never belonged here anyway
always cast out
it's just me
tell me who else I can be
don't want to be alone
But all that changed,
With just one dream
An angel with a smile
that can light up the darkness
the darkness in my soul,
but I don't know her
"Is it about you?" I ask him when I finished reading it.
"Yes, sort of."
"Well it is beautiful, I love it."
"Thank you. Will you help me with the rest of it?"
"Of course I will. I will take it home and have a look at it. If that's fine?"
"Of course it is," he replied
A while later Emma arrived and we began to talk about everything that was going on. About the vampire and about the destined children.
"The destined are children who are born to fight evil and keep the peace between the supernaturals and non-supernaturals. They will have immense powers that no one knows what they'll be. But of course, with great powers come great responsibility and even greater dangers. They'll also share a connection but to what extent the connection is, is unknown but what is known they must work together if they are to truly fulfil their destiny," she explained.
"That means we need to find the others. How many more are there?" Nick asked.
"I'm not sure, there could be more but it is said that there will be at least four," she answered.
"Then we must try to find them but what if they aren't good? What if they don't want to help?" I wondered out loud.
"Yeah, she had a point. If they have these powers that are meant to be used to protect people, whos to say that they will. They may use them for the exact opposite," Nick added.
"Then if they do we kill them because if they have these so called extraordinary powers as Emma says then God knows what they can do," Bella said.
"What if they don't know what their powers are like us two?" Nick wondered.
"But what if they do? We don't know how old they are or how much they know of their powers," she replied.
"I think you're getting too far ahead of ourselves. We don't even know who they are. They might not be of threat," Jane said.
"I'm just trying to be prepared," Bella said.
"That's good but let's not try to think the worst," my mum said.
"What about that vampire walking around town?" I asked.
"We will have to watch him, find out what he is doing here and stop him before he hurts anyone," Emma answered.
"How do we know he is evil?" Bella asked.
"He is defiantly evil. He was evil when I saw him in my vision," I said.
"Then we are going have to stop him before he starts hurting people," Jane suggested.
"I think it will be best if we all talk here. If it's okay with your mum? So that we don't have to meet back up later tonight," my mum asked.
