Chapter 4
The bus driver pulled up to let on a boy and girl. They both had the same shade of hair: black. However the girl’s was tied up in a high pony and the boys were short, but his fringe was a little longer so it nearly covered one of his eyes.

It was clear that they were both brother and sister as they looked very alike. The boy looked older about my age and the girl looked about thirteen. Although they had the same hair their eyes were completely different from each other. The boy’s eyes were bright green and they seemed to reflect the light making them shine, unlike any other eyes I had seen. His sister’s eyes were a very dark brown but their skin was of similar tone. Pale.

People just stared as they walked down the bus and some giggled with their friends as they pointed towards the boy. The sister glared at them and they fell silent, but they still carried on staring with the rest. The sister and brother sat down at the back of the bus.

Kaitee was looking over at the group of kids who were just previously laughing.

"Who are they?" I wondered to myself.

"You mean the boy and girl who just got on?" Kaitee asked me, turning away from the people to look at me. I nodded. "They are Nick and Bella Watson."

"Why’s everyone looking at them like that?" I asked taking out one of my headphones so I could hear her more clearly.

"Not everyone likes Nick. They can be very mean to him sometimes."

"Why don’t they like him?"

"They all say that he is a freak and he doesn’t really speak to any of them that much. But I don’t really get why they say that about him because he seems cool," she told me.

"I like him. Although, I don’t know him that well because he doesn’t speak with people much. He always seems to always be hanging out with his sister and a boy in her year. Diego, I think his name is. Also, some people are scared of Bella because well she can just be very scary sometimes," she continued to explain.

"It’s awful why would they treat him like that? I hate bullies. I used to get bullied," I muttered.

"I hate bullies too, but not everyone is bad here. Some of the people are really nice," she said.

"Yeah, I have already met some nice people. I met this lad yesterday he was very nice."

"Who was it?"

"He didn’t say his name but he was very tall, and had strawberry blond hair."

"You probably met Kaiden." When she said his name she blushed. She likes him, I thought.

The driver pulled up outside of the school. It too was old. The new-modern cars looked odd parked in the carpark. They seemed out of place. Everyone began to slump their way off. They were definitely not excited by School. I got up and started to walk off the bus and tripped.

Great, what a good impression I have made of myself. I’m back to being known as the clumsy loser. I didn’t hit the floor. Instead, I stopped falling and was back on my feet.

Then I realised hands were around me. They had stopped me from hitting the bus floor. "Thank you," I said and turned to face the person who had helped me.

They let go and then I found my self-looking at Nick’s eyes. His eyes were really beautiful, they seemed to sparkle like emeralds. He was smiling at me and I couldn’t help thinking about how handsome he was to me. I gave an awkward smile back. Bella put her hand on his shoulder, and he looked at her. She then pushed him forward and glanced at me till they got off the bus.

What was her problem?

"Come on you don’t want to be late on your first day," Kaitee said.

"Let’s go."

"What form class you in?"

"Form B."

"That’s my form too," She said and we left the bus.

Everyone was still entering the classroom. The inside of the school looked nothing like the outside, it looked more new. More modern and it seemed to be extremely busy even though, not many people lived in the town. When we reached our form room Kaitee led me to a table in the middle of the room.

Form wasn’t very productive, we hadn’t done a thing in the fifteen minutes except sit there and talk. The teacher had taken the register but that had been it. I didn’t see the point of going to form just to sit there doing nothing. Anyway, it was over and we had to go to our first lesson. Kaitee showed me to my next classroom, before setting off to her own.
