Chapter 18
The end of the school day couldn't come any quicker. Time seemed to go by very quickly, which was very strange because school always dragged. After school had finished we practised in Jess' house for the concert and it was a very productive two hours. We had finished writing the lyrics a while back. Now, we just had to get the music down. We had almost finished learning to play it well but not quite. There was still a lot of practice to be done.

Once we finished everything we could in the two hours we decided to go for a walk even though it was snowing outside. We put everything away and put on our coats. The snow was come down heavy so I and Nick left our guitars. Kaitee left her keyboard too.

"Are you off out Jess?" Her mum asked when Jess opened the front door.

"Yes mum, we're off for a walk," she replied.

"And build a snowman," Nick added.

"Okay, don't be home too late. I know that they have just caught the thing that was attacking people, but still be careful," her mum said.

"Okay, mum we will."

We followed Jess outside. The snow was really deep on the floor now it covered me up to my ankle, and it was still snowing.

"Can we build a snowman?" Nick asked.

"No, you're fifteen not ten," Kaitee answered.

"But you can't have snow and not build a snowman," he sighed.

"Yes you can," Kaitee said.

"But I want to build a snowman too," Jess said.

"We're not building a snowman," Kaitee joked.

Jess kneeled down and made a snowball, then threw it at Kaitee. Nick laughed. Kaitee through a snowball at him. It made him stop laughing.

"Holla," someone said I turned around to see Bella and the boy who I guessed to be Diego coming towards us.

"Hey," Nick said.

"Vicky, I'm sorry I never introduced my self before. I'm Diego, Nick's friend." He didn't sound very Spanish. He sounded more English than anything else.

"I know," I muttered.

"You know?"

"Yeah, well I... Erm kind of guessed that you were," I answered.

"Ow, that hurt," I heard Kaitee shout. I looked over to her, and she had snow all down the side of her left cheek. She picked up another snowball and aimed it at Nick.

"I'm sorry," Nick said but she still threw it at him.

"Are we having a snowball fight?" Diego asked.

"No Nick's just being an idiot because I said he can't build a snowman," Kaitee said.

"You have to build a snowman if there's snow, it takes away the fun if you don't," Diego said.

"That's what I said," Nick agreed.

"Okay, fine let's build a snowman then if you really want to," Kaitee said.

"Whoo!" Jess shouted with joy.

"What are you ten?" Bella asked.

Diego and Nick started to roll snow into balls. I started to do the same. We all helped to make the snowballs. After we made the head and body, we helped each other to put it together. Jess found some sticks that we used to draw a face and then we used them for the arms. "It's not a very good snow man it doesn't have a nose," Diego pointed out.

"Yeah, how's it going to breathe, poor snowman," Nick joked.

"Snowmen aren't alive," Bella said.

"What?" Nick asked. "I thought that they came alive like in that snowman film. I wanted him to take me flying now your telling me that it won't happen."I started to laugh.

"You're so weird," I giggled.

"And stupid that wasn't even funny. You just embarrass your self," Bella said.

"It was never meant to be funny and besides Vicky laughed."

"She laughed because you're an idiot."

"It's getting late now maybe we should be heading home," Kaitee pointed out.

"Right my mum will be mad if I'm in late," Jess said.

We began to walk again leaving the snow man behind.

When I got home I heard Emma moving around upstairs so I sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV; there was nothing good on. I sighed and put the remote back on the coffee table.

Then all of a sudden I had a feeling that someone was in danger. Someone I knew. I waited for a vision but it didn't come so I didn't know who needed my help. I felt useless. How could I help someone if I didn't know who they were? I needed to find who it was and quick because they were in danger right, now.
