Chapter 19
There was a knock on the door, I jumped up and answered it. Nick and Diego were stood there looking really worried. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Emma is in danger. I don't know why, but I had a feeling that she was. We need to go to the mansion, now," Nick answered urgently. I nodded and looked up the stairs. Should I tell mum? I decided not to and walked outside, and shut the door.

We started running and I was far behind. Nick was in the front, he was very fast even Diego couldn't keep up.

We ran towards the woods and stopped. I stared at the thing that I have always had a fear of. If only I could just over come this fear because right now Emma needed me. The lads stopped and looked back at me.

"What's wrong?" Diego asked me.

"I don't like the woods. When I was little I nearly got lost in them, and now they kinda scare me," I said.

"You'll be okay, I promise. We won't try to go too far ahead," Nick tried to reassure me, but I still didn't want to enter. What was there to be scared of really, despite the fact that some crazy lunatic could be hiding in there? I had already walked through them already and nothing happened. If anything did happen, I'm sure, Nick and Diego wouldn't leave me. Nick would try and save me. I breathed out slowly, trying build up the courage to enter, and then I walked in.

After a while, we started to jog and half way to the mansion, I nearly fell over a twig. Great, I hoped I didn't be my clumsy self and fall over, but I was certain I would. That's why I hated running. I always ended up falling, but some how I managed to get to the mansion without hitting the floor.

When I got there, I saw that Nick had already rung the intercom and was waiting impatiently for a reply, but there was no reply. He looked worried and frustrated I felt the same way. I hoped she was alright. I was scared that something had already happened to her but I really hoped not. She had scared me a while back, but I knew she cared about me. The least I could do was save her, and truth be told I was beginning to like her.

The doors opened but I didn't see anyone open them. They must have done, though. Maybe it was Nick who answered it but how did he have a key?

"Nick has his mum's key," Diego said, obviously seeing the confused expression on my face. I nodded and we ran after Nick into the mansion.

"Emma are you here?" Nick shouted, but no one replied.

"Emma? " I shouted trying to help him out. Maybe she just didn't hear him. We were in a very large house so she might just be having trouble hearing us. She could be anywhere in the house.

"Emma?" He shouted again, but still, there was no answer.

Then the room seemed to blur out until I was no longer in the room or I was, but I was just seeing something else. I could see some sort of run down building; it hadn't been looked after at all. It really was a hideous sight and the very fact that every detail and colour was heightened in my visions, it made it even more horrible to look at. Then I found myself going through some thick heavy brown doors that were decorated with some weird symbol or logo, I didn't recognise. My eyes kept moving until I saw a room, and in the corner, I saw something that made me gasp. My mum's best friend was sat on the floor with her hands tied up behind her back, and she looked frightened and frustrated

I was back to seeing the castle hallway "Oh, no," I gasped, loudly.

"We need to get there now," Nick said. I looked at him and met his eyes. He was really good looking, and I felt memorised by his eyes. I don't think I ever met a boy quite like him. I felt like kissing him. What was wrong with me? Emma was in danger and I was thinking about kissing a boy, who probably didn't feel the same way about me. Besides I didn't love. Yes, I liked him but I had only just met him a few weeks ago, so I didn't really know him that well. Okay, so I'll admit I might have had a crush on him but now wasn't the time to be kissing him. Also when ever I liked a boy that I thought liked me back, it turned he never did. Well, I only ever really liked one boy before and when I told him he just said he didn't like me. I could see the humour in his eyes. He thought it was funny that I liked him because to be truthful what boy would love a clumsy, loser girl like me? But Nick was nice to me he said that he was my friend, at least he liked me a little bit to be a friend to me. No, I needed to focus on more important things, than thinking about if boys liked me. I needed to help Emma.

"Where is there?" I asked, snapping out of my daze, moving my head away from Nick so I didn't find myself looking into his eyes again. Which was a lot harder than I thought because they were really incredible and hypnotising.

"It's the old high school, it's not far from here," Nick answered.

"We need to get going," Diego said and I nodded. Once again I found myself running to keep up with Diego. Which was hard considering I had never been much of a runner and had been one of the slowest runners in my old school.

I bumped into Diego as he suddenly came to a stop. Why were we stopping? We were still in the woods but I couldn't see any building at all. "I'm sorry," I claimed.

"It's okay," Diego said smiling at me. He looked really cute when he smiled. I didn't notice his eye colour before, they were light brown and they seemed to be filled with Joy and happiness but behind them were worry for Emma. There was something strange about him. Something that seemed animal like, but he didn't seem dangerous.

"Here you are? I was looking everywhere for you two. You just left the house without saying anything," I heard Bella say. I looked around Diego and saw Bella standing in front of Nick.

"Bella this isn't really the time for your moaning," Nick shouted back. I never heard him sound so annoyed.

"Don't shout at me like that freak. You can't just storm out of the house like that and not have me wondering what the hell is happening. What is happening? Why haven't you told me?" She said angrily and then looked in my direction. Then back to Nick.

"Tell me what's happening, now," she demanded.

"Emma is in danger," Nick said more calmly now, but there was urgency in his voice. It matched what I was feeling, I didn't want to stand around here talking.

"What? Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"I don't know, I just felt like I had to go get Vicky, as quickly as I could. Can we not talk about why I didn't tell you now? We need to go save her," Nick said.

"Right," Bella agreed.

We came to a stop at a river. It was very breath taking, the water was so clear that it reflected the sky above. I looked down into the water and saw my face in the light ripples. This river was no doubt anything like the canals in the city that was all polluted and murky, instead, it was so clean.

"How are we going to get across?" Bella asked. I looked up from the water and saw the worn down building from my vision. It looked like it had been abandoned.

"We need that boat over there," Nick said.

"And how are we going get it?" Bella asked us.

"Maybe one of us could swim over there," Diego replied.

"What all the way over there?" Bella asked and looked across the river. "It's a bit far isn't it?"

"I'll go," Nick sighed. He sat down on the floor to take off his shoes and socks.

There must be a better way, I thought. I looked across at the rowing boat. I wish I could move that boat. I mean I was a Witch and I could do magic. Strangely, it started to move. I was shocked, that I could actually make my magic work. I focused more on it, imaging it moving towards us and it did.

"Wait, Nick stop," Diego said. A few seconds later the rowing boat was in front of us.

They all looked at me in shock and amazement. "I thought you couldn't do magic, yet?" Bella asked me.

"I can. I erm... Did before but I'm not familiar with how to do magic and spells. I guess I'm learning," I replied. Nick smiled at me.

"And very fast too. Many witches practice for years to learn how to move things like that. It takes a lot of power," Nick said.

Bella climbed into the boat and so did Diego. I followed and once Nick put his shoes back on, he got in the boat too. Nick sat down and picked up the oars. "Who said you get to row?" Bella moaned.

"Bella your mum's friend is in danger we don't have time for your moaning. Does it really matter who rows?" Diego said firmly. She sighed and Nick started to row.

We reached the other side and we all got out quickly, running inside. Great more running. Diego pushed the front door open, and as if they were waiting for us, two girls stood in front of us. They were both tall about six feet and were a lot bigger than me. Not that I was small, but I wasn't exactly tall either. One of the girls had dark brown hair with streaks of red. The other had blond hair and they both looked very pale. I could tell they were vampires and when they smiled, their teeth proved that fact. They must be adult vampires. Well, they did look at least twenty-three maybe a bit older. Evil and manipulation radiated from them. "Hello, we were expecting you," the dark haired girl snickered.

"Where is Emma?" I ordered. They laughed at me. "Tell me."

"And what are you going to do if we don't? " The blond one asked.

"Nick go with, Vicky find Emma," Diego said. Nick nodded and he grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the vampire women. We ran through the building until we came to a door, that we heard talking behind. I pushed it open, not bothered who or what I found behind it. I just wanted to get Emma and get out of that dusty death trap.

When I pushed it open I saw Emma sat in the corner and wasn't aware of the people around me. I ran towards my mum's best friend, glad that we had gotten to her in time before they hurt her. "Emma," I shouted out in relief.

But I didn't reach her someone pushed me back and I fell to the floor, which hurt. I looked up to see a man staring down at me, angrily.

"Get away from her," I heard Nick say. He rushed over to me. He helped me up and the man just smiled, looking amused.

"Got yourself a body guard have you? I would have thought you would have picked someone different, an adult vampire at least."

"Let Emma go," Nick said.

"And give me one good reason why we should? You got our friend locked up behind bars," another man said from the other side of the room. I and Nick looked to him.

"So this is what this is about? Your mate was attacking people so I had to do something to protect them?" Emma said.

"Whatever you will pay anyway," he said.

Nick walked towards Emma but the man who pushed me stopped him. "And what exactly do you think you're doing?"

"What does it look like? I'm untying her so I can take her away from you evil creeps," Nick said.

"What did you call us?"

"You heard me." The man punched Nick, he stumbled but kept his balance. Nick was about to hit him back when two people ran up to us and grabbed us. I wiggled to try to get free but I couldn't.

The man from the opposite side of the room walked over to us and stopped in front of me. "Don't you dare hurt her?" Emma warned.

"Like you could stop me. Your powers are not working and I am only talking to her," the man said. He then turned to me.

"I believe my friend asked you if you wanted to help us. See we think you could be a really great leader and help us in our plans," he said.

"Well you were wrong," I said.

"Really you could have the whole world at your command?"

"I don't want the whole world. I just want people to be safe from evil people like you. What is it with you people? You're not going to talk me into joining you, in whatever evil plan you have for the world," I shouted.

He just looked at me but didn't say anything, it made me feel nervous and scared.

"Why don't you leave her alone? She doesn't want to be apart of your world domination. Why can't you get that through your thick head?" Nick shouted.

The man turned to him with an angry look and was about to hit him.

"Stop, leave him alone," I ordered but the man didn't listen. I felt so angry, first, he kidnapped Emma and then he got his friends to hold me so I couldn't move. Now he was going to hit Nick. I had never been so angry.

"And why should I do that? If you won't join us willingly, we'll just have to make you," he said.

"He is my friend and if you hurt him, you'll pay," I replied like it would make a difference.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" He asked.

"He's only 15. You shouldn't hit children," Emma shouted.

"Will someone please shut her up?" A man grabbed hold of her and tied a cloth around her mouth, so she couldn't talk.

"Now where was I? Oh, right you don't want me to hit him is that right, Vicktoria?" He asked me. I nodded.

The man snickered and turned to Nick. He raised his fist high and swung it down on, Nick so hard I could feel it. The sound of the impact rang in my ears, I had to turn away. Tears almost found their way to my eyes. It hurt me that he hit him. I cared about him and I didn't want to see him get hurt. We shouldn't have come alone. It was stupid.

"Now watch what you say to me kid or I will kill you," he threatened, Nick.

"I'm not scared of you," Nick said.

"Oh, but you are. I can see it in your eyes. You know you're not going to win because we're older than you, there for we are stronger. You're not even an adult vampire yet so you're not even a match for us," the vampire said.

I had enough of it. We have to get out of here but how? They said our powers won't work. We were going to lose; I knew it. I didn't feel like dying like this but there was nothing we could do.

The woman who held me back gasped in pain. I wasn't sure why but I didn't pay much attention to her. I put my hands out towards the man, not knowing what I was doing but he went flying back, hitting the wall. The woman and two men jumped in shock.

Now I could see Nick more clearly he had a giant red mark on his face, below his eye where the vampire had hit him. Nick ran to my mum and untied her, then we ran for the door.

"Don't just stand there idiots, get them," the man I threw at the wall said to the people just stood there in shock of what happened. As soon as he said it, they snapped out of it and they started to chase us.

We ran into Bella and Diego struggling against the vampire women. They looked worn out and bruised. When they saw us they began to run too. The vampire women and the other evil people who had kidnapped Emma chased us outside the building and I noticed Diego was limping. He was struggling to keep up with us.

"How did she even do that? I thought you made a spell to block their powers," one of them shouted.

"I did, I don't know how she could have done that no spell could break the charm," a woman answered.

"Well she found away, didn't she. Why do I ever trust people to do things?"

I looked back once again. One of the kidnappers had nearly caught up with him. "Diego, watch out!" Bella shouted. He turned around saw him but before the man could reach for him, a cloud of smoke hit him in the face. I could no longer see the kidnapper, he was completely covered by the white smoke. Emma had used a spell to distract him so we ran away, just as the smoke was beginning to fade away. Our powers must have only been blocked inside the building. The man coughed as he stepped out of the fog. The others soon followed.

"Come on, we can't let them get away," a woman said.

"Don't you think I know that but I just got hit in the face with smoke so I can't stop coughing," he replied and coughed again.

They began chasing us again but we had already reached the boat and climbed in quickly. I was certain it wouldn't support us all. It was barely strong enough for four people, no matter five but Nick started to row as quickly as he could. The man and his friends looked annoyed and defeated.

Safely at the other side, we climbed out. "Are you okay?" Nick asked Emma. She nodded.

"You shouldn't have come to save me. You could have gotten killed."

"What and leave you in danger?" Diego asked.

"You should have told Sally, and Jane or called the police," she replied.

"The police wouldn't have gotten there in time and my mum was busy outside. I didn't have time to tell her," Nick said.

"They're going to be mad. Even I'm mad at you. You shouldn't have come on your own. They were grown adults and stronger than you. They even hit you and Diego you're limping, " she said, her voice full of concern and sadness.

"I'm alright, it's just a sprain," he said.

"Let's hope it is and not broken."

"Nick are you okay? He hit you quite hard," she added.

"I'll be okay," he answered.

We didn't say anything for a while until Emma spoke again."I better take you home before your parents start worrying," She told us.

I wish I didn't have to go home. I knew she was going to tell mum what happened. Mum would be so mad at me for storming out the house into danger, without even telling her. But I had to go home. We walked to Nick's house first. It gave me time to think of a reason why I didn't tell her where I was going. I always told her where I was going and I never lied to her. Okay, maybe once but I regretted it after and apologised. I didn't know what to say to her. I didn't even know why I didn't tell her.

Emma knocked on the door and it opened. Behind it stood an annoyed and worried Jane. Then I saw mum standing behind her. Oh, great.
