Chapter 17
Vicky
After Emilee had gone home I headed back to Nick's house. Now I was sat back upstairs in Nick's room trying to come up with a plan.
"How about you don't go meet them?" Bella suggested.
"I have to. They said if I don't they will kill me. I believe them, " Diego replied.
"Not if we kill them first, " Bella said.
"If it's my dad who sent them, then he'll just send more of his men after me, " Diego told her.
"Then what are we going to do?" She wondered.
"What if he goes meet them?" Nick started to say, but Bella cut him off.
"But what if they hurt him again. You saw what they did to him last time," Bella said firmly, her eyes flashed with worry.
"If you'd let me finish. I was going to say that if he goes meet them and we can go with him? " Nick said.
"Yeah, there's only two of them and three of us. We can protect him and find out what they want," I said in agreement. There wasn't really any other option because Diego was right we didn't know if those werewolves got sent by his father and if he had who's to say that he wouldn't just send more after him. But if we went to go meet them with him maybe we could sort something out. Get them to talk to his father so that he'll leave Diego alone.
"OK," Bella agreed and then asked Diego, "What time did you bump into them yesterday?"
"About 10pm," he replied and I gasped. What? I have to walk in the woods at 10 O'clock at night in the pitch black woods? Maybe I could just stay here. No, Diego's your friend. He needs your help. No time to let my fears get the better of me. I thought but it didn't help to calm my fear.
"Vicky, if you don't want to come, you don't have to, " I heard Nick say. It snapped me out of my thoughts and I turned to him.
"I want to. I want to help. I can't let my fear stop me. Besides it's best if I finally got over my fear because I'm always going to end up going into the woods whether I like it or not while living here, " I answered, my voice shaky.
"OK if you're sure, " he said.
"I guess we just wait now, " Bella pointed out.
"I guess we do, " Diego said.
We decided to head down stairs and watch TV for a bit, until it was time to go.

At half past nine we got ready to leave. We was about to leave when Bella's and Nick's parents stopped us. "Where are you four going at this time?" Their father asked so we all turned to face them both.
"We was just going to take a walk. Have some fresh air, " Bella replied.
"Bella don't lie to us," her father ordered.
"I'm not, " she said.
"You're not just going for a walk, we're not stupid. You have taken all the silver knifes," he pointed out.
"Ok, so we took them because we heard a rumor that there was some wild animal hiding in the woods and we think it may be another Lycan or a werewolf. We wanted protection in case the rumor was true and they turn out to be evil," Bella told him.
"Nick is this true?" Jane asked.
"Why do you need to ask him? Don't you believe me?" Bella asked.
"No, " their father replied, quickly. "So is she telling the truth Nick? And you better tell the truth or you both will be grounded, " he added.
"Erm, Well..." Nick replied trying to figure out if he should tell them the truth. They both glared at him as if they were warning him if he lied he would be grounded. Nick looked at Bella, and then back to his parents. "No not exactly. There's these werewolves that hurt Diego and they said he had to meet them tonight or else they would kill him. We are going to go met them with him, " Nick told them.
"Snitch," Bella stated folding her arms across her chest.
"We know about that and we know that Diego is supposed to be grounded for sneaking out," Jane said.
"Yeah, and we can't really do anything about him misbehaving. Anyway, let's go," their dad said.
"What you two are coming too?" Bella asked.
"Yes of course we can't have you going to meet some werewolves by yourself can we? What type of parents would we be if we did that," Jane replied. Bella mumbled to herself and rolled eyes.
"We can hear you, you know," their dad pointed out as he walked towards the door. He opened it and stepped outside. All of us followed after him and I sighed as I looked up to the black sky. It really is dark, I thought unsure if I could actually do this. If I could actually brave the woods once again. Vicky you will be fine. You've done it before. Nothing to be scared of.
Julian locked the door behind us and the six of us headed towards the woods. Julian and his wife was walking up a head. Me I was walking behind the others. Nick saw that I was strolling behind so he stopped to let me catch up. The rest of the way he walked along side me. When we reached the entrance to the woods I was taken back. I couldn't this. I couldn't go back in there, not when it was as dark as this.
Nick held out his hand to me, so I took hold of it.
"Alright, everyone close your eyes," Jane said, so I did. "When you're ready Vicky," she added.
Okay, what is it? I had to remember it. That's it, I think. I hoped they were the right words.
"Earth, air, water, fire and spirit we call you to our circle. Please help us in our time of need. Evil has risen. See we need were evil strikes again. Visions we seek to help us to stop their evil deeds," I chanted trying to match Emma's poetic tone but failed miserably. "So mote it be," added just to make sure the spell actually worked. Emma hadn't said those words but she was far more advance than me so I thought it would be best to end the spell that way.
The image of the orange, dancing flames just like the last time began to show behind my closed eyes. They drew me in deeper until my vision came. Slowly a scene came into focus. There was a town hall and inside there was a room used for various functions, similar to the one in our town hall. Stood near the front of the room there were two women and one man. As I moved closer I noticed their faces and I recognised two thirds of the small group. Two were the evil ones and they seemed to be talking to the women I didn't recognise. I tried focusing on what they were saying. Soon their words filled my ears.
"How's that spell coming along?" The male evil one asked.
Huh, they are working with a witch now? I gasped, in thought and then returned to listening.
"It's coming along nicely," the woman, who had to be the witch replied. She had black hair that faded to blonde at the end and she had pale brown skin.
"Excellent," the man said, with a smirk on his face.
"So how does this spell work?" The female evil one asked.
"It's simple. It will pass their power and energy onto you, making you stronger," the witch explained.
"So will this kill them too?" She asked.
"Yes, they will no longer be an issue to your plans," the witch told her. Both the evil ones were now smirking and the vision faded out.
I saw the the flames again so I opened my eyes. Now, with their words echoing in my ears, I was becoming aware of my fast beating heart. They are coming up with a plan to kill me and Nick, I thought as I was becoming short of breath. I don't want to die, I tried to say but I couldn't. I couldn't breath, I couldn't speak, my legs felt weak. I found myself falling to my knees.
Nick knelt down in front of me and looked at me, his eyes flashed with worry. "Vicky take deep breaths please," he said slowly and calmly.
I did just that and gradually it became easier to breath. "I don't want to die," I managed to say this time.
"We won't. We'll figure out a way to stop them before that happens," Nick stated.
"What if we don't? I'm worried that they'll win," I said.
"Let's have hope okay?" He told me and I nodded.
"I hope you are right. I hope we win," I said.
We are too young to die. There is so much I still wanted to do. Plus neither me or Nick are 18 yet. We can't die. Nick is right we will find a way to stop them. We have to our future depends on it, I thought trying to calm myself down and standing up.
"What did you see?" Bella asked.
I turned to face her and noticed the others were looking at us.
"The evil ones are working with a witch. She has a spell that will transfer all our power and energy to them, to make them stronger and it will kill us," Nick explained.
"I have never heard of such a spell. It's got to be very extreme dark magic. Emma or Sally might know more about it. I must speak to them first thing tomorrow," Jane said.
"In the meantime before we do stop them, I don't want you two going anywhere alone. Do you understand?" Julian asked us.
"Yes, dad," Nick replied.
"Yeah," I said.
"Good. Now, let's pack up and head back inside," he said.
Nick blew out the candle he was holding and the others blew out the rest. When all the candles were back in the plastic bag, I felt Nick put his arm around me, so I put my arm around him too. He pulled me closet and guided me out the barn.
"Please don't worry too much, angel. I don't want you to make yourself sick. Besides I wouldn't let them hurt a hair on your head," He thought to me.
"I wouldn't let them hurt you either," I thought back.
We all walked down the path back to the house. I really needed some sleep.
After Emilee had gone home I headed back to Nick's house. Now I was sat back upstairs in Nick's room trying to come up with a plan.
