Vicky

Several days had passed and there was still no sign of the ’evil ones’ or the witch so we had tried tracking them down, but had no such luck. It was as if the witch had casted an invisibility spell to make them hidden from us. That way when they did decide to attack, we wouldn’t see them coming. Time was ticking by and we were no closer to figuring out how we would break through the witch’s spell and it was setting my nerves on edge.

We had tried nearly everything, well everything we could possible think of. Now, it was nearing the end of November and was looking as if we would need a miracle.

Nick, Bella, Diego and I was sat in one of the fields behind the Watson household, trying our hardest to come up with a new plan. A plan that would hopefully work this time.

"Anyone got any ideas?" Bella asked as she laid down on the grass and looked up at the whitish-blue sky.

"I’m all out of ideas," Diego replied.

"Nick?" She wondered as he was general good at coming up with plans.

"Not any that I can think of right now," he answered.

"Then it looks like we are struck. There’s no use trying to find them," she said.

"Don’t. Don’t say that. We will think of something," I blurted out as I looked quickly in Bella’s direction.

"Good luck. Time’s running out and they could be on their way here now. All you can do is carrying on practicing your powers and spells so you might stand a chance against them before they take your power and life," she told me as she sat up.

She was right. There was nothing more we could do. It would be the end of me and Nick soon, if we didn’t beat them. My heart began to race and my eyes started to feel watery. Better to prepare for the worse.

No don’t think that way. We might win yet. We just gotta keep practicing our powers. No you’ve gotta accept the fact that you may die, Vicky. The chances of it are extremely high, I thought to myself.

"Bells stop it. You’re making her worry. Let’s not give up just yet, trying to find them. We can practice our powers and keep trying to track them down," Nick told her.

"Fine," she said with a sigh.

The four of us sat there in silence trying to think of something. Awhile later Nick spoke. "I got an idea," he said.

"Let’s hear it," Bella ordered.

"What is it Nicki?" I asked him.

"It’s a long shot though," he replied.

"It’s worth a shot though right?" Diego wondered.

"I suppose," Nick said.

"Well are you gonna tell us?" Bella asked folding her arms across her chest. She was getting impatient.

"Well me and Vicky saw a fairy last month so if they are still around maybe we can get their help. If we describe the place we saw in our vision they may be able to find them," Nick said.

"How will they find them if we can’t?" Diego wondered.

"Because I doubt the spell hides them from fairies’ powers just mine and Vicky’s," Nick explained.

"Right I highly doubt they’ll expect us to work with fairies," I said, as my heart returned to its normal speed.

"Let’s go try and find one of them," Nick said standing up.

"Who’s we? I’m not going to go talk to fairies. Ordinary humans hardly ever notice them, I don’t won’t people to see me talking to them because they’ll think I’m crazy. I don’t want them thinking I’m a freak like you," Bella said.

"There might not be anyone around," I told her. We might find them away from houses and the shops so it was doubtful we would be seen talking to them in that case.

"I’ll do all the talking," Nick suggested.

"Yes, you will because I’m not coming. I don’t want to go fairy hunting when they could have moved on now besides I have homework to do," Bella said as she too stood up and brushed dead grass off her black skinny jeans.

"Since when do you care about homework?" Nick questioned lowering his eyebrows in confusion.

"Since it’s due in tomorrow and last time when I didn’t turn my homework in on time Miss Hall gave me detention," she explained.

"Ah," Nick said.

"I hope you find them though and if not you’ve gotta give up trying to locate the evil destined ones and practice your powers none stop, understand?" She ordered.

"We will," I said as me and Diego stood up.

"Good," she said

Then we set off walking. Bella back to the farm house and the three of us down the street. Please God, let us from find them and that they can help us, I thought as I looked towards the ground and began to search everywhere area I could see with my eyes as I followed Diego and Nick down the path. They were doing the same as me I think but I was trying not to let myself get distracted because I could end up missing a fairy if it passed by, as they were super quick and near impossible to spot. That’s why hadn’t know they existed before I moved here as I had never really saw them before. I would catch a glimpse of something tiny moving but I always thought that it was my imagination. At the Halloween part was the first time I actually saw one properly and I could understand why no one knew they they existed.

I hoped god would hear my plea and let me see one again. Although, I wasn’t really religious. I didn’t believe in a religion, but I did believe that their was a God and a Goddess. Me and Nick were good people, we helped people surely they wouldn’t let us die. Surely they would help us.

We still hadn’t spotted one when we entered the woods. I hadn’t even realised a that we had due to the fact that I was to busy on looking for fairies. When I realise d where I was, I looked up from the floor.

"We’re in the woods," I stated, and almost gasped at the calmness of my voice.

"I hadn’t realised," Nick said as he looked at me. "Should we go look around town instead if here?" He asked.

Funnily enough I found myself saying, "No let’s look in here for a little while first."

I didn’t know if it was because I really feared for mine and Nick’s life so I really wanted to find the fairies or I was becoming less and less scared of woods now but I wasn’t freaking out as much as normal. My heart was only beating a tiny bit faster.

"Okay, if you’re sure," Nick said, looking slightly worried.

"I’m sure," I said.

"Seen anything yet, De?" Nick asked Diego who had been still been looking when Nick and I had been talking.

"No, nothing yet," he replied and we went back to helping him look as we started walking further into the woods, when we heard the sound of leaves from a small bush nearby, rustling. It wasn’t even windy.

"Did you guys hear that?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, " Diego replied taking a step closer to the bush.

"Huh, huh," I added nodding my head.

"De, don’t go to it," Nick ordered.  "We don’t know what it is yet." Diego stepped back after he said that.

A quiet mumble filled the air around us.  It almost sounded like giggling and as if it was coming from all directions. I lifted my hand, at my side. If anything scary jumped out on us I was ready to use magic or my powers against it.

"What do you think it is? Do you think it’s fairies? It sounds similar to what I heard coming from that fairy at the party, when it spoke, but it sounds almost like a giggle now," I wondered.

"Maybe, " Nick said.

"Only one way to find out," Diego pointed out walking towards the bush again and Nick followed close behind him.

"Please be careful," I said.

They reached the bush and Diego kneeled down. He leaned forward and peeped into the bush as something,  small, landed on his head. He lept to his feet, reaching his hands to his head,  letting out a scream of surprise.  Nick also took a step back and I gasped holding out my hand higher ready to cast my magic against it, until Nick stopped me.

"Vicky no," he ordered walking towards me. "It’s a fairy," he added when he reached me and took a hold of my arm and lowered my hand.
Taking a look around the side of him, I saw that the thing had left Diego alone now and was flittering around him, so I stared at it taking a closer look and saw that it had wings and short red hair.

I couldn’t believe I was going to hurt a fairy. I need be sure what something is before I try and use my magic or powers against it, I thought. As I did I heard a quiet mumble as if the fairy was talking.

Nick

"Was ye lot looking for me?" The fairy asked so I turned around.  It still continued to circle Diego. He followed him as he did so.

What in all the universe is he doing? This fairy must be crazy and I thought I was weird.

"Yeah," I replied after I finished thinking and remembering I was the only one who could hear what it was saying. It stopped circling him and it flew towards me.

"What is it ya need?" He wondered.

"We really need your help," I started but he cut me off.

"Obviously or ya wouldn’t have come looking here for us.  What is it ya need help with?" He asked.

"Well we have two vampires after us. They are destined ones and they are working with a witch.  She knows a spell to drain mine and Vicky’s energy and powers for their own. We tried tracking them down with our vision powers, but it seems as if the witch has cast a barrier spell and we don’t know how to break through as we’re not quite sure what type of barrier spell it is, " I explained.

He turned his head to the side raising his little eyebrows. Then he turned back to face me nodding his head, before he spoke again. "So ya want fairies help in tracking them down?"

"Yes. Can you?" I asked crossing two fingers on my right hand.

"Yes, but it will cost ya," he replied.

"OK. What is it I must do?" I wondered.  I would have done anything to find them. Anything to make sure Vicky stayed safe.  She meant a lot to me. I wouldn’t- couldn’t let her die.

"Nought. We will help ye for nought," another fairy answered in a voice I recognized.

When she came out of hiding and flew towards us, I knew she was the fairy Vicky and I met at the Halloween party.  Once she reached us she glared at the male fairy and said, "Dew, why do thee always try and get favors from people whenever they need help?"

"Well, shouldn’t I get something outta it, helping people all the time?"

"No. We should help people for kindness not for gain," she told him firmly then turned to face me.

"Don’t ye lot worry.  We shall help  thee.  What is ye names?" She said.

"I’m Nick." I pointed Diego and said, "that’s Diego and the girl standing behind me is Vicky. "

“Well, Nick,  Diego and Vicky we will help ye. We will come find one of thee when we have info, " she stated.

“Thank you so much.  If you ever need help I will be more than happy to help,” I said a smile forming on my face.  Please God let them find them. I mean they had to or we had no other option.

"The last place we saw them was in a town hall very similar to the one here, but it was slightly different. The main hall was set up differently," I added.

"T’anks for da info. We will try our best," she said.

"Okay, thanks again. You probably can’t understand how grateful I am," I said.

“Yes, thank you so much.  I can’t hear you but thank you and goodbye,”  Vicky said and they left.

“Come on let’s get out of here,” Diego said and started to walk in the direction we came.

Vicky and I followed.  She came to walk closer to me.  “Let’s walk faster I wanna get out of here as soon as possible,” she said.

“Okay, angel,” I said and took hold of her hand. We all sped up and headed back to the farm house to tell Bella the Brilliant news.  She would be very happy.
