The End Of A Storm
Ray Of Hope?
The majority of the group and the two almost identical men were walking through the woods making their way towards a destination only these two knew. The one walking beside Aiden had black short hair and a light beard with really thick eyebrows. He was wearing a brown coat and a grey pair of jeans along some black boots. The other unknown man who was talking to David had the same features as the first one but he had longer hair. Wearing a blue jacket and a black pair of jeans with some boots, he was holding his rifle looking uneasy. "Since we haven't introduced ourselves yet... My name is Adam Fletcher. And he is my twin brother, Joel." The man walking with Aiden announced to everyone. The group introduced themselves as they were walking closer to their destination. "So, who's the leader in your group?" Adam asked Aiden. The black haired teenager thought for a few seconds before he answered. "I am." He frankly answered. "Really? Aren't you a bit young to lead?" The mature man implied. "Age is just a number. Better not underestimate me." Aiden replied looking confident. The man slightly laughed and continued with his questioning.
"How long have you been out there?"
"Two to three months or so."
"Does the school have lots of resources remaining?"
"Not a lot. In fact we're running low on them."
"Then our farm is just what you need!"
"Yeah about that... What was the deal again?"
"You're coming with us to the farm to eat a proper meal, bring in the gas and after that you decide what you want from us in return."
"Hope it's legit." The young man implied as he noticed the large farmland ahead of them. There was a big space filled with grass covered by a large perimeter of electric fence. Inside the fence there was a red painted building that looked like a barn and besides it a very big house laid. "Wow..." David expressed his amazement. "See? We weren't lying to you. Joel who was walking beside him said. "That really is a big farm!" Emily said looking excited. "Yes it is!" Grace voiced. "Mum can I go play over there?!" Danny said almost ready to run free on the green grass. "Wait Danny not yet!" Olivia prevented him. "Let's go inside. Mama is waiting for us!" Adam announced. "There's more?" Owen said looking grumpy. "Come on dad don't be like that..." Linda said.

The ten people entered through the fence door and quickly made for the residence. "Mama we're back! We've brought some people with us!" Joel said calling out. "Oh hello there!" An overweight woman with red hair, wearing a checked shirt and a black pair of jeans with some trainers said, waving her hand as she opened the door and exited the big house. "What brings you here?" She continued with a kind smile. "They've brought us some gas for the fence in exchange for a meal and some food." Adam explained stepping up. "That's splendid! My name is Carla! You can all relax while I cook our meal!" She said and everyone introduced themselves to her. "I'll be going back to my kitchen then. You kids can relax all you want out here or inside!" She said grinning as she closed the door behind her. "Hey Grace! Can I play over there?!" Emily said pointing at a couple of swings besides the house. Grace turned to look at the owners of the farm and as they nodded affirmatively Grace said "Of course sweetie!" and walked towards them signaling at Aiden to come as well. "I want to go too!" Danny came up and said. "Let's go honey." Olivia said following the little kid as he started running around. "Hey David. Shouldn't we go get Ashley and Eric? I mean it wouldn't be nice if we ate without them." Aiden explained. "You're right. I'll go get them real fast!" David said as he started running. "Do you remember the way?!" Aiden asked. "Of course I do!" David shouted as he was already far away. "That man..." Aiden said shaking his head. "You shouldn't keep ladies waiting..." Grace said holding Emily's hand as they were waiting for him. "Sorry *ladies*!" He chuckled and joined them and with their turn they joined Olivia and Danny while Owen and Linda had started walking around. The little girl and the boy jumped with excitement on top of the swing and Olivia alongside Grace had started pushing them. "This place looks nice..." Grace mentioned. "It looks nice... But it feels kinda... off." Aiden added as he ran his gaze around the big green space. "Curious about something?" She asked inquisitively. "I don't know... Maybe the fact that we keep eating the same dry stuff everyday day makes me hallucinate..." The young man said as he thought it over. "Well let's not throw away our chance to have a normal meal!" The blonde haired teenager expressed. "You're right..." Aiden said as he examined the hat on Grace's head. "You really don't go anywhere without it huh?" He implied with a smile. "Of course I don't... While I wear it I feel like you're right there beside me, even when you're not. It makes me feel safe..." Grace answered with a grin and a red face. "Well it looks great on you." Aiden said winking at her. "Grace push me harder!" Emily said. "There you go princess!" Aiden said as he pushed her himself. "Yahoo!" The girl said excited. "Aiden was it?" Adam said while approaching the swings. "Yep. What's up?" The young man asked. "Can you help me go round the farm? Sometimes the walkers get tangled up before they fry and knock some boards over. We have to clear them out every once in a while." The grown man explained. "Sure, no problem." He said. "I'll be right back!" The black haired teenager exclaimed. Before he walked away Grace tugged his jacket's sleeve, and gave him a warm smile.

"So what do we do?" Aiden asked as the two men walked close to the fence. "I'll go and turn the power off so you don't have any problem touching the fence. You will go around the perimeter and remove the walkers." Adam explained thoroughly. "So I have to do all the dirty work huh...? So be it." The young man implied. "Come see me when you're done boy. Thanks for the help."He replied as he turned and left. "Aren't we supposed to do this together?"  Aiden thought to himself and walked in the opposite direction as he inspected the fence closely. "Now let's get to work." He thought as he stepped closer to a dead walker who was hanging from the electric fences wires. "Did you really have to do that man?" Aiden muttered pushing him forcefully off the fence and went on to the next one who was a few steps away. This time the walker was completely burnt and half of his body was cut off by the fence. "You are one gross dude!" He though out loud pushing him away. "AIDEN!" Eric's voice could be heard calling out to him. "Eric? What's up?" The black haired teenager asked. "David told me to help you with clearing off the fence..." He replied reaching Aiden almost out of breath, holding his knees with his hands. "Okay. You didn't have to rush like that though..." Aiden pointed out. "So what do we do?" Eric asked. "See that walker tangled up back there? We need to get them off the fence." The young man explained as he started walking towards it. "Oh okay then." Eric replied. "He really made a mess, didn't he?" The black haired teenager asked looking at the walker corpse who had made the fence bent over to the inside because of the excess weight. "Let's push him." He continued. "Got it." Eric said as he got into position. The two teenagers grunted but the corpse was stuck between the wires. "You can't be serious..." Eric muttered. Aiden jumped over to the outside of the fence and Eric frowned awkwardly. "What are you waiting for? An invitation?" Aiden said sarcastically. "Right!" Eric said quickly jumping over to other side. The two teenagers pushed the corpse from behind and while Aiden cut off his hands with his machete they were able to remove it from the fence. "That was a tough one." Aiden spelled out. Eric turned his back to the forest overlooked by the farm, but at that moment an arrow flew off a nearby bush and hit his shoulder spilling the young man's blood all over the grass. "ARGGHHH!" The teenager shouted in pain holding his arm. "What the fuck was that?!" Aiden shouted as he and Eric took cover behind a nearby tractor."WE HAD A FUCKING DEAL!" "WE'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" Threats were heard from inside the thick forest and a ton of arrows that fortunately missed their intended target followed. "AAAAH! It fucking hurts!" The brown haired teenager moaned in immense pain. The sound of the electric fence turning on caught the attention of the two teenagers who were infuriated at the time. "ADAM! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! WE'RE STILL OUTSIDE!" Aiden shouted looking pissed. "WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO NOW!?" Eric shouted in between some grunts.
