Meetings At The Farm
The sun had risen for the first time after things had gone to hell. "Hey Grace wake up." Aiden said poking at her cheek. "Where are we...?" She asked. "I feel like I've made this conversation again. Anyway we're still at the Farm." The black haired boy said getting up. "What farm...?" She asked looking sleepy. "At mister Hershell's farm Grace..." He said as he opened the door of the barn. "Oh yeah..." The blonde girl said as she opened her eyes and stood up. "Oh hey there kids!" A man with an accent, a blue hat, long black hair, full beard and brown eyes said rising to almost 1.87 centimeters tall. He was wearing a white plain t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans and some black boots. "Good morning... sir." Aiden said looking him curiously. "Oh pardon my manners there. My name is David, David Marshall." He said with a smile introducing himself. "I'm Aiden Campbell mister Marshall, nice to meet you." Aiden said accepting his handshake. "And I am Grace Murray." Grace said looking sleepy. "Oh there little lady, did you check your hair for spiders? Since you've been sleeping in a barn!" David said teasing her. "Oh my God!" She said jumping from shock. Aiden laughed and exited the barn.

"Are you two kids alone?" David asked. "Yeah kinda..." Aiden replied "Are you?" He continued. "No I'm not actually. I'm here with my wife, Olivia and my son Daniel, we call him Danny though." The grown man said. "Oh that's good." Aiden said. "Good morning guys!" William's voice was heard from inside the house as he made his way out. "Good morning." The three of them said. "So how did you make it through here?" Grace asked. "We just drove through the city. It was really painful to see all those people die... But we made it out alive." David explained. "That... must have been difficult..." Grace spelled out. "So are we ready to build a fence?" William said excited, although he interrupted them. "Are you kids gonna help out?" David said smiling. "I'm helping, Grace can sit with your wife and son if you don't mind mister Marshall." Aiden suggested. "'Course boy! And cut the formalities son just call me David!" The grown man said. "Dad! Dad! Can I help you with the fence!?" A little boy with short black hair and brown eyes wearing a red checked  shirt and a pair of jeans  along  some brown boots said running towards David. "Wait up Danny!" A short woman with blonde hair and green eyes said running behind to what seemed to be her son. She was wearing a yellow zipper jacket and a pair of black jeans along some with trainers. She was almost at 1.73 centimeters tall and had her hair in a ponytail. "Don't worry about it Oli, I got 'im!" David said to his wife. "So you wanna build a fence huh?" He continued looking at his son. "Yes sir!" The kid replied. "Then you better talk to William first so he can tell you what to do!" David said playing along with his son. "William! Can I Help?" Danny asked. "Of course you can kid! Just sit on the tractor next to that tree and we'll start off there!" William said grabbing his tools. "It's nice to see people cheerful like that... It seems as though that things are completely fine despite yesterday's monstrosities." Aiden thought to himself. The black haired boy then turned to look at his friend, which was looking down for some reason. "Hey Grace come here! I've got something for you!" He said grabbing her hand. "What's up Aiden?!" Grace replied looking surprised. Aiden grabbed his back and opened it. "Here." He said handing a jockey hat to her. It's top was white and the front was red. It had the letter "N" on top of it written with a black colour. "This is for you." The blue eyed boy said. "What? Why?" She asked looking confused and excited at the same time. "It's sunny outside and I won't wear it so... I thought you would want to wear it! Besides I thought it would really look good on you!" Aiden explained. "Grace slightly blushed taking the hat in her hands. "Thank you Aiden..." She said with a smile so big it seemed it went over her ears. "Don't mention it!" He returned the smile. Grace tied her hair in a ponytail and combed her front hair in a left side fringe after she wore the hat. "So how do I look?" She asked. "You look... cuter than ever!" Aiden said winking at her. "Oh is that it!?" The blonde girl said looking away arrogantly with her face beet red.

"Hey David aren't you gonna help out with the fence?" Aiden asked looking at David who was looking for something into his truck. "Yeah in just a bit... I just wanna see if the engine is okay kid." He said opening the bonnet of the truck. "So how are things going with your girlfriend?" David asked. "S-she's not my girlfriend!" He said quite embarrassed. "Oh really? I thought you were a couple for sure when I first so ya!" David said smiling. "So where are you from, David?" Aiden asked. "I'm from Florida kid. Things were rough back there..." The grown man explained. "Figures..." The black haired boy replied. "Anyway how old are you kid?" David asked. "I'm 17. Same as Grace and my other friends." So what happened to the rest? Your parents?" David asked. "We were at school when this thing hit. We were with a bunch of friends but we got separated. They never made it to the meeting point so we don't know where they are the only thing they said was "Get out of the city" and when I say city I mean Atlanta. As for our parents, my mom and sister are somewhere outside Atlanta I don't know where... My father knew but he's not... You know. Grace's parents where on a trip to New York and said "they'll find us" but I'm not really sure about that." The blue eyed boy explained thoroughly. "That sounds tough Aiden... Sorry. Anyway me Olivia and Danny drove out of Florida and onto here after all this hit. We don't have a plan but we're actually heading to Macon after we leave here, and after that I don't know... But we're a tough family kid. Ain't nothing gonna drag us down." David explained thoroughly himself. "That's cool David. Optimism." The young man said. "So uhm what where you doing before all this?" Aiden asked. "I owned a store selling fishing equipment kid. I've had it since I was 23 and Danny was only a newborn baby!" The grown man said grabbing a tool from his toolbox. "And how old are you now?" The young man asked curiously. "I'm 33 kid." David answered as he looked inside the car's engine. That's cool! Well I'll be helping Will if you need me let me know." He said leaving David. "It's cool to get to know people who aren't sick in the mind I guess. But not everyone's like that I suppose..." He thought to himself.
