The Bold and Skinned Truth
Aiden, David and Grace got out of the barn and slowly afterwards went their separate ways. Grace inside the house, David searching around for a toolbox and Aiden towards the generator of the electric fence. "Let's see here..." The black haired young man spelled out reaching it's target and kneeling in front of it. It was painted red and it's trapdoor which protected the important cables was closed. The machine was emitting a green light which perhaps indicated that everything was functioning well. For now. The teenager opened the trapdoor, which hadn't any sort of lock in tact, and observed the movements of the small gears. He also noticed some colorful cables at the back of the preposterous machine, which sparked a light inside his eyes. "That's it." Aiden said to himself as he looked around before turning the switch off. The gears stopped moving and the light went off. He quickly pulled the survival knife, that he found back in the bandit camp, off his pocket and looked at the cables. "Blue... Green... Red... Pink... Which one?" Aiden posed a question to himself. "Well Grace likes red so..." The teenager said and without any logic in his thinking he cut the red wire. Before he closed the trapdoor he removed one of the gears and placed it inside his pocket, just to be sure, as he said. He stood up and walked back to the barn were David was waiting for him. "Hey Aiden I found it!" The grown man shouted. "Keep your voice down!" Aiden indicated with a "shh" sign. "Sorry... But here it is!" The bearded man announced not being able to hide his excitement. "I found an old toolbox and picked it up." He continued. "Good job man." Aiden replied in the same tone as his friend. "Let's get inside. I hope Grace is doing a good job in occupying the others." The young man pointed out opening the barn door as the two men slipped inside. The kids and Olivia were still there next to the cow and everything looked okay. The two men moved closer to the door and David pulled out the tool that was needed. "Who's gonna do it?" David asked whispering. "Well first of all do you know how to do it?" Aiden asked in the same volume. "Well no... I haven't done that sort of thing before." The bearded man announced. "Come on Dave you're a grown man how hard can it be? Just pull the screws off and BOOM... we're done!" The young man explained. "Then you can do it." David exclaimed backing off. "Ughhh... Fine. But I want you to make sure no one's coming this way." Aiden said with a groan "Roger that" David replied as he stepped away handing the tool over to him. The young man kneeled in front of the lock with the screwdriver at hand. He started removing the screws that were keeping the big doors shut. While he was removing the second one a voice was heard from outside the barn. "Dinner is ready!" Joel's voice echoed inside the barn. "Talk about bad timing..." Aiden said as he got up and turned around with the lock that was halfway off, at his back. David quickly walked up to him with a nervous look. "Do your thing pal... I'll make an excuse for ya." He said and turned to leave the barn. "Aren't you coming Aiden?" Emily asked walking towards him. "I'll be coming in a few Em." The young man said as he put the screwdriver inside his pocket and patted her head. "Okay!" She said cheerfully as she left the barn with everyone else."Let's get back to work then..." Aiden thought to himself as he looked at his unfinished business. He took the tool off his pocket once again and started pulling the two remaining screws off one by one. As soon as he finished taking them all off he placed them in his pocket and finally opened the two gigantic doors.
What laid inside was horrifying. The inside looked like a kitchen, but there was blood scattered everywhere. floor, windows and tables were soaked in it. On top of a wooden table laid a large saw full of the red material. Innards of creatures unknown were lying on the floor in front of him. "Can this be human...?" Aiden muttered seemingly to himself bringing his hands to his face unable to process the situation. His eyes lost their color and his breathing became unstable as he slowly but surely examined the terrifying scenery. "What are you doing here?" Adam's voice was heard from behind him. Aiden quickly turned and looked at him in the eye. "What the fuck is going on in here?!" Aiden shouted looking angry. "First of all. Calm down." The grown man said as he tried to look calm raising his arm midway past his stomach. "How the fuck can I be calm?" Aiden threw back, as anger took the place of his shock. "This is not something unnatural. This room is where we skin the animals we hunt. That's why there's so much blood in here." The man explained. "Then why is it locked off?" The young man asked. "Because we don't want our guests to get the wrong idea about us." Adam said. "Now please come with me so we can eat like normal people." He continued. "Just so we're clear. I don't trust you. As soon as we finish dinner we'll be on our way back to the school." Aiden explained walking by him. "You can't go back now. Soon the horde will be passing through. And we don't know how big it will be." Adam explained trying to convince him against leaving. "We'll figure it out, ON OUR OWN." The young man emphasized while walking past him.
Aiden entered the house and made a turn to his right to find himself in the dining room. He realized everyone was sitting down waiting for him and Adam to come back. "You idiot how long are you going to keep us waiting?!" Owen shouted looking angry. "Sorry about that guys" Aiden said checking everyone on his group. He noticed that Grace and David had a worried expression on their face which made his uncertainty all the more unbeareable. "Carla. Where can I wash my hands?" The young man asked in a polite tone. "The bathroom is just upstairs sweetie." She said pointing at the staircase at their left. "Thanks. I'll be back in a sec." He replied in the same tone leaving the dining room. He quickly picked up the pace and went up the stairs with only one thought in his head "I'll get to the bottom of this...". He turned left and saw the bathroom, shaking his head and turning in the opposite direction, which was towards Carla's bedroom. He quickly entered the room and noticed a glass cabinet which contained strange ingredients. "Morphine...?" He asked as he took a closer look. He started looking around swiftly, checking inside drawers, behind paintings and at last he noticed that there was a switch underneath the bed. He switched it on and suddenly a light illuminated his feet. The strange source of light was coming all the way from behind the wardrobe. "What the hell?" Aiden whispered looking shocked as he walked closer to it. He pulled the wardrobe away trying not to make a noise and noticed there was a hidden door directly behind it. He gulped down nervously and put his shaking hand on the doorknob. The large wooden door slowly swang open. The scenery behind the door was once again horrifying, as Aiden noticed Eric was laying inside a bathtub with his arms and legs cut off. His torso was almost flowing in a pool of blood. When the young man opened the light Eric had regained consciousness and was at that time looking at him directly in the eye "E-Eric... W-What did they do to you...?" Aiden whispered with a broken voice. "Stay... away from..." He said almost losing consciousness. "Stay away from what?" Aiden asked swiftly impatient to hear the end of what he was about to say. "...The food." The teenager finally spelled out as he fell unconscious once again, maybe for the last time. "No! No! No!" Aiden shouted multiple time as he got out of the room and started running downstairs in the highest possible speed. He entered the dinning room panting heavily, not from exhaustion but from the swift pounding of his heart, where everyone had just picked up their forks and were ready to start eating. "STOP! DON'T EAT!" Aiden shouted as loud as he could. Everyone dropped their forks except for Owen and the Fletcher family. "What's wrong boy?" Carla asked looking nervous. "What the fuck are you shouting for, asshole?!" Owen shouted back. "ERIC IS INSIDE A BATHTUB UPSTAIRS WITH NO FUCKING LIMBS! THAT WOMAN COOKED HIM UP AND IS TRYING TO FEED HIM TO US!" He shouted as hard as he could once again. Everyone except the Fletcher family was shocked. "Aiden sit down!" Adam shouted as he got back. "FUCK YOU ADAM! YOU AND YOUR STUPID FAMILY! YOU WANT TO TURN US INTO CANNIBALS LIKE YOU?! ARE YOU PLANNING TO EAT US AS WELL!?" Aiden shouted at the top of his lungs once again clenching his fists. "We're giving you food and that's how you repay us?!" Joel said as he got up himself pounding the table with his hands. "Do you call humans food?!" David said looking angry as he picked up his rifle. "EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!" Carla shouted. "LIKE HELL WE ARE! EVERYBODY GET UP! WE'RE LEAVING THIS HELL HOLE." The young man announced. "You're not going anywhere!" Adam announced as well bringing his rifle to his hands and his finger millimeters away from the trigger, aiming it directly at Aiden as he moved closer. "Don't you dare!" Grace shouted. "Shut up!" Joel joined in pointing a pistol at her from the right. Aiden pulled off his own weapon as fast as the others and pointed it at Carla. "So what are you gonna do now?! You can't afford to kill us! You'll starve to death!" The young man said almost ready to pull the trigger. Joel pulled back the hammer of the gun with his thumb threatening Grace. "Joel stop that shit, before I shot your mother down!" Aiden shouted angrily. "Go to sleep Aiden!" Adam said rushing at him, taking advantage of his brother's distraction, while smacking the teenager's head with the hard grip of his weapon.
Aiden's vision turned black...
