As soon as the two men entered the main room of the barn they noticed that in front of the entrance Joel was sitting on top of a haystack with his back turned towards them. He had placed his rifle next to him while he was talking to himself, rumbling about stuff that the two of them weren't close enough to hear. David and Aiden looked at each other knowing that both of them had the same thing in mind: Walk up behind him and grab the rifle. Aiden nodded and the two men marched forward crouching. "They've put me out here in the cold for no reason at all..." Joel's complaints were heard as the two of them walked closer to him. While the two of them were trying to get even closer David stepped on something that made a loud cruching sound. "What was that?" Joel asked grabbing his rifle. Fortunately, in the meantime Aiden and David managed to hide inside an empty horse stall just beside the barn's entrance. "Sorry...." David whispered. "Did they get out?" Joel asked as he turned around and got up determined to search the barn. "Can you peak outside?" David proposed as Aiden was the one closest to the door. The young man nodded and opened the door wide enough to be able to just see. He saw Joel having his back turned to the stall while he was searching inside the hay on the floor. "He's searching for something..." Aiden whispered. "Okay... Let's wait..." The grown man replied as silently as he could. six to seven seconds passed when Aiden found the courage to peak outside again. But this time Joel was nowhere to be seen. "Where the fuck did he go?" Aiden silently said closing the door. "He's not there?!" David asked looking confused. "Wait I'll check..." The black haired teenager said once again as he decided to take a look outside one more time. Yet this time, instead of Joel walking around, the muzzle of the man's big gun was waiting for Aiden's head to peak outside. It was pointed directly at him but in split seconds the young man quickly moved away grabbing the rifle. Joel grunted angrily and pulled Aiden outside from his collar. The two men found themselves outside of the stall with Aiden holding Joel's rifle for dear life while Joel himself was trying to loosen the young man's grip on his weapon. "DAVID!" Aiden shouted and the grown man jumped off the stall and pushed Joel with great force making him fall to the ground with the rifle flying far away. But the Fletcher didn't give in as he quickly got up and pulled a knife out of his back pocket. Aiden rushed at him grabbing the hand that was holding the knife. Joel punched the young man and fell on top of him with his knife not entirely under his control. David on the other hand quickly rushed towards the rifle grabbing it. The two men showcased their strength and Aiden finally got hold of the knife stabbing Joel through his thigh. "IT'S OVER!" David shouted immediately pointing the loaded rifle towards the wounded man who immediately let out a pained yell. Joel raised his hands in mock surrender and stopped moving without giving it a second thought. "Are you alright Aiden?" David asked
"I'm good. But what are we gonna do with him?" The young man said as he got up. "See?! This is how it goes! It's kill or be killed! That's what you don't understand!" Joel said as he laughed in a crazy and schizophrenical way. "You have to kill other people in order to survive!" The crazy man continued. "Should I kill him? It's your decision pal." David said bluntly looking at him with disgust. "You can have me now Aiden! You won't he hungry anymore!" Joel said over and over again. "SHUT UP! This is not how it works! You won't make me kill you!" Aiden said swiftly kicking him in the face leaving him unconscious on the ground with a loud thud. "I need to get Grace. We'll meet up and we'll leave. Got it?" The young man announced. "Got it. I'll stay here round up everyone so we'll be ready to go." David agreed dragging Joel inside while using a rope to tie him up. "Take care of Emily for me while I'm gone okay?" Aiden said as he left the barn and made for the family's residence.

The young man sprinting made it just outside the house without meeting anybody in the way. There he found the house's door slightly open with all the lights turned off. He slid the door open and saw Carla pointing a gun at Grae with her arm over her neck. "Aiden! Please!" Grace said with tears running down her cheeks. "GRACE!" Aiden shouted angrily. "PUT IT DOWN CARLA! The young man continued taking a step forward. "Stay back boy!" Carla said with a trembling voice as she took a step back climbing one of the stair's step. "You don't want to do this Carla! Calm down!" Aiden said as he raised his hands taking another step forward. "I'LL SHOOT HER!" Carla said taking another step backwards climbing the staircase even further up backwards. "Aiden...!" Grace said with a begging tone "Everything will be alright okay?! There's no need for you to do this!" Aiden said trying to calm her down as he walked even further in front. "STOP IT!" The woman said as she took another step back. The light behind Carla flickered and Aiden noticed that Eric, who had turned into a walker, was crawling towards her at the end of the staircase. "Please Carla just let her go!" The black haired teenager said as he stepped forward once again. "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!" Joel's and Adam's mother said climbing one of the last staircase steps. But this time Eric was there to stop her. The walker grabbed her neck and bit a large piece of flesh off her. The woman screamed in pain letting hold of the gun and Grace once and for all. The blonde girl quickly took hold of the gun that fell from Carla's hand and ran towards Aiden pulling him into a warm embrace. "Everything is going to be okay... You're safe now... I promise..." Aiden said stroking her hair as she burried her face on his chest while her crying intensfied. "I'm so happy you're here..." She said through her sobbing. As soon as Grace stopped crying Aiden grabbed Carla's gun from his girlfriend and shot the two walkers down. "Sweet revenge..." The young man said looking at Eric's transformed body. "Let's go. The others are waiting for us." He said and grabbed her hand as they left the residence.
