The black haired teenager with one hand on his jean's left pocket and the other sliding the front door of the amphitheatre open turned his gaze onto Grace and Emily. "Hey Aiden look at this!" Grace shouted in excitement pointing at a big classic piano in the middle of a stage. Around it there were three columns filled with seats. One on the left, one on the middle and one on the right, with six rows each and a total of 48 seats in every column. "A piano?!" Aiden said excited as he walked closer to it. "It seems to be working fine!" Emily implied with a smile. "That's great news! The whole amphitheatre looks so clean... Despite the apocalypse it seems as though none of them touched or stepped foot inside this room." The young man stated running his eyes through the empty room. "That must be the case. Since David busted the lock and all." Grace said sitting on the piano's seat which lied right in front of it. "Really?! when did he?" Aiden asked laughing. "As soon as we came here! He was like "I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT'S INSIDE!" and broke the lock like a maniac!!" The blonde girl chuckled. "Emily! What don't you come play with me?!" Danny said peaking from the door he had just slid open. "Can I go?" Emily asked politely. "Of course you can. Go right ahead!"Aiden answered with a smile as he petted her head. "Okay I'll see you later Grace, Aiden!" The little girl with the black hat said as she ran towards her new friend.

"She really feels attached to us huh?" Aiden said. "Yeah, it seems like it. She must have noticed that we are her guardians, from the whole group I mean. Since everybody minds their own business..." She said pressing two keys on the piano with both her index fingers. "So how have you been holding up? Any thought you want to share?" Aiden stepped up and said as he sat next to her, on the piano seat. But the seat was too narrow for both of them to fit so they squeezed in order for none of them to fall off. Grace's face flushed in a red tint, as soon as Aiden's arm touched hers and turned nervously to look at the piano keys. "N-No I don't have any thought in particular..." She said not being able to think through the situation. All she was focused in was her right shoulder and hip against his. "Are you sure?" The young man repeated his question. At that time a picture came to her mind. All nine of them posing for a photograph last year on the New Year's Eve party. "Well yeah I have one... I'm really worried about the others... I mean we just left them and what Kevin said back then made me feel so weak and selfish. He rushed to his friends as soon as possible but we just left them..." Grace expressed looking at her feet. "You know his words made me feel this way too. But I thought this through. I mean Miles and the others said that we should leave the city and that we'll find each other. We just listened to them and hoped that it would be in our favor. Now we're all alone and can't do anything to find them. We don't know where to search for them. They said "outside the city" which means they could be all around the USA by now. Don't beat yourself over something you're not responsible for." Aiden with his turn explained. "Mhmm... Aiden I know you're right... But... But I just miss them... I miss my parents, I miss our friends... I miss Ava and Kyle..." The blonde girl replied looking down. "I'm sure you do. And I miss them too. But I'm sure we'll be able to see them again." The young man reassured her bringing his hand on top of hers and looking her through her eyes. "You think so...?" She asked getting her hopes up. "No I don't think so. I'm sure of it!" Aiden answered with a bright smile. "Come on... That's so childish!" Grace replied with a chuckle. "Is it that bad being a child once in a while?" He implied. "No, I like it when you're being childish..." The blonde girl stated
"Well then I'll be as childish as it gets!" The young man replied ironically.
"But you're cool when you're acting mature too! I like that more!" Grace answered not thinking about her answer. "Oh you like that?!" Aiden smiled arrogantly. "You know what I mean when I say I l-l-like that right?! I mean... you know..." She tried to explain but couldn't find the right words to express herself. "I know I'm just teasing you." He turned to look at the piano keys once again. "I just remembered a song that my mother used to sing to me when she taught me how to play the piano..." Aiden said out loud pressing the keys in a slow rhythm. "What was it like?" Grace asked looking at him. "I think it was like this..." He said starting to match the song's rhythm as he played the keys his mother taught him. "Does it have lyrics?" She asked once again. "It does..." The young man said as he turned a bit red from the embarrassment. "Will you... sing it for me?" The blonde girl asked with a smile. "O-Okay..." He said as he stopped playing to start over and to clear his throat. (The song went as follows):
"I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes, the sun is going down
You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now
Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window, darling everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby even when the musics gone, gone

Just close your eyes, the sun is going down
You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound."

His mesmerizing voice, which could calm down even ferocious beasts, echoed through the room and onto Grace's ears. "T-That was... Amazing!" Grace spelled out in amazement. "Come on you're overreacting... It's just a lullaby." Aiden explained. "No it was really amazing. Hands down!" She said smiling. "Well then I'm glad you liked it!" He said returning the smile. "Hey Aiden..." The blonde girl said resting her head on his shoulder. "What's wrong Grace?" The young man asked. "Do you remember how we met...?" Grace implied. "Yep. As clear as day!" Aiden replied with a chuckle. "I was playing the piano all alone in the music club's room back in the junior high school and then you burst in the room shouting "THAT'S SO AWESOME!" He continued laughing. "BUT YOU WERE TOO GOOD FOR ME NOT TO PRAISE YOU!" She laughed back. "But then you had to pick sports over music!" The blonde girl continued. "I couldn't help it! Our school soccer team was about to be promoted on the next division!! I couldn't miss it!" The young man justified himself. "You and soccer... such a loving relationship!" She said laughing. "You bet!" He replied returning the laugh. Grace took a deep breath from the last laugh and brought her head back to his shoulder. "Thanks for being there for me when I needed you... You're the best." She spelled out as she was looking away at the door in front of her. "I'm the one that should be the thanking you... You've always stuck up for me Grace." Aiden replied slightly smiling. For some reason his heart started pounding louder and louder. Her touch, her look and her every word ignited a flame in his heart nothing could ever extinguish. Even through an apocalypse with dead bodies walking around, his affection for her didn't drown. Instead it became more intense. And that, he realized by the hard and swift pounding of his heart right at that moment. "Fuck... It's now or never!" He thought to himself as he bit his lip. "You know there's something I've been wanting to tell you since we were in junior high school..." He spelled out. "W-what's that?" She asked as her heart was pounding as much as his, all of a sudden. "You know I..." He paused for a second to catch his breath. "I like you Grace. A lot. When I almost died back there I thought that I wouldn't get a chance to see you again. A chance to tell you how I feel, and that scared me as much as hell." Aiden explained and felt like he had a rock taken off his chest. Grace looked at him with a look full of surprise as she couldn't find the right words to express her feelings. "I-I..." She stuttered. "You don't have to say anything. I know that the feeling is not mutual. So..." He stopped midway. "I LIKE YOU TOO YOU IDIOT!" She shouted out putting all of her heart to it. "W-What?!" Aiden asked looking shocked. "I said I like you too you idiot! Since the very first time I saw you... I've tried to give you hints to make a move but you're as dense as a man could get!" Grace said panting heavily. "Dense?" He repeated. "Yeah Dense!" She shouted back. At that moment Aiden closed his eyes and grabbed the back of her neck pulling her gently towards himself. He leaned forward and their lips linked. The kiss they shared was enough to relieve them of all the pressure they've been feeling for the last days, even if it was just a few seconds. "Dense... huh?" Aiden said with a grin.
