Bandit Business
"Calm down Eric!" Aiden spelled out looking at him, almost ready to knock some sense into him. "But what are we going to do...?" Eric asked once again with a desperate tone in his voice. "The gate is over there! If we move from here to this haystack and then make a run for it we might be able to make it!" Aiden whispered as loudly as he could as the noise of the arrows hitting the metallic tractor filled the area. "Are you sure we'll make it?" The younger of the two asked. The black haired teenager had a really unsure look on his face when he voiced "Yeah... Sure." And thus the two of them were set on to proceeding with that plan. "Here we go!" Aiden said as he jumped out of cover as he rushed to the haystack in front of them. Then Eric followed his movements and the two of them, having got close calls with getting hit by the rain of arrows, made it to the first landmark. "Okay... Now who goes first? Eric asked. "We go together you idiot. One at a time will be making it easier for them to hit us." Aiden explained. "You're right..." The brown haired teenager replied. "I'll countdown..." The older of the two stated as he got in a position to run. "Okay..." The other one replied as he followed Aiden's stance. "3... 2... 1... Go!" He said as the black haired teenager jumped out of his cover once again and made a run for the gate which was almost a 10 second run from their position. The younger teenager followed behind him but couldn't match up with his speed. The two of them reached the gate and entered the farm. Meanwhile Adam had just arrived at the scene with a rifle and started shooting at the attackers who had left their cover to chase down the two teenagers. He shot one of them down and the other two fled into the forest. "Aiden! Eric! Oh my God, wait I'll call Mama to patch you up!" Adam asked looking concerned. "Why the fuck did you turn on the fence?!" Aiden spit out angrily. "How could I have known you were outside!" The grown man implied having some logic in his words. "Aiden what happened?!" David said as he run closer to them. "Some fucking bandits from the woods attacked them!" Adam said angrily. "They were throwing goddamn arrows at us and one of them got Eric!" Aiden explained clenching his fist. "Come on Eric let's get you inside..." Adam proposed. "T-Thanks..." The young teenager spelled out almost ready to lose consciousness.
The four men reached the house in a mere of seconds as they were walking quickly in order to prevent Eric from fainting on them. "Mother!" Adam shouted. "What's wrong Adam?" The woman's voice was heard coming from inside. "Oh my God what happened to you kid?!" The mother of the two men shouted in surprise at the sight of the wounded teenager. "Aiden what happened?!" Grace rushed over. "Did you get attacked David!?" Olivia followed holding Danny's hand. "What the actual fuck happened back there?!" Owen said looking irritated. Linda and Joel were peeking outside the house as they were previously aiding Carla with cooking. "Some bandits were shouting stuff about deals and shit like that while throwing arrows at me and Eric! One of them hit him in the shoulder but we managed to get away!" Aiden explained. "What deal?" Grace expressed her discomfort while glaring at Adam."Why would they shoot arrows at you?" Olivia asked with her turn. "Maybe Adam can tell us what the deal is about... But we need to patch Eric up first." David proposed. "Of course I'll take care of him! You'll be as good as new in no time boy!" Carla said as Joel got out of the house and carried Eric inside. "Y-Yes please..." The young teenager spelled out as he was being carried inside.
"I think it's time you explained what this "deal" meant Adam." David implied as the group was looking at him intently. "I don't understand why everyone is being so suspicious right now..." Adam said as he seemed a little nervous while looking away. The fact that the stare of everyone around him was dead serious, made him realise there was no running away from this mini interrogation. "Okay I'll tell you everything I know." Adam finally said something the group was happy to hear. "Last week some bandits came over to our farm and asked for a trade. We gave them cheese and other diary stuff and they gave us gasoline, just like you. But the gasoline they gave us wasn't enough to keep us going for the week so we asked them for more. But they wouldn't give us any so me and Joel stole back our products..." Adam explained clenching his fist. "Well that's one way to make a deal fall apart..." Aiden commented. "Yeah... Completely." Linda added. "And now fucking bandits are attacking us from the woods!" David said in a loud voice. gesturing with his hands. "I must say we didn't believe that they would have taken it so far... But now that this happened we have no choice but to strike back." The black haired grown man proposed. "So you want us to clean up YOUR mess?!" David voiced. "No David! I'm asking you to end this before you or your family and friends get hurt!" Adam continued. "He's got a point." Owen joined in saying. "I agree with my dad." Linda agreed too. "As much as I hate to admit it... You're right Adam." David unexpectedly agreed. "Are you sure you want to start a war with the bandits David?" Aiden asked his friend. "Is going around and killing people the right choice?!" Grace said looking surprised. "David are you out of your mind?!" Olivia said looking shocked. "Calm down everybody I'm just saying that if we have the chance to make this place a safe one then we should go for it!" The man with the beard expressed himself. "I'm relieved that you agree with me David. But we shouldn't waste any more time. I know where their camp is, let's grab our rifles and go." Adam said looking ready to run off. "David are you going now?!" Olivia asked once again almost ready to have a heart-attack, since she still wasn't used to that side of her husband. "I have to Oli. Will you come with me Aiden?" David proposed to his friend. "I'm really not fond of killing people man..." The teenager replied frantically. "Hey kid... I know it doesn't feel right to kill them, but what if they come back and hurt someone you care about?" David explained touching his friend reassuringly on the shoulder. Soon after, the blue eyed man let out a sigh while glancing at Grace and Emily. "Well I guess I ought to teach these bandits a thing or two... I mean who uses arrows anyway...?" Aiden exclaimed trying to lighten up the mood. "Aiden are you sure...?" Grace said expressing her worry. "It's okay Grace, it won't be for long... Besides, I can't let anything happen to you or Emily." The young man answered placing his hand on her cheek. "Aiden... it just feels so wrong for you to always protect me... I need to eventually help out as well. I can't be stuck here doing absolutely anything everytime you venture towards danger." Grace replied placing her hand on top of his and looking him straight into the eye. "You don't have to feel this way babe. Your emotional support keep me going... That's all the help I need from you. Besides, you help the group out in other areas." Aiden reassured his partner while stroking her cheek. "I'll go grab our rifles boy." David said as he walked away with Olivia and Danny following up behind him. "You're really going after these people...?" Emily asked looking at him with her puppy eyes. "I'm sorry sweetie. but I have to go..." Aiden explained himself to her with a smile. "Please be careful..." Emily said hugging him. "I will. Don't worry about a thing!" The black haired teenager said reassuringly. "Exactly what she said..." Grace implied hugging him as well. "Of course! It won't take long... I mean I can't let my two ladies wait for too long!" Aiden said as he laughed and separated from his hug with Grace. "Aiden... If you notice anything suspicious you have to let me know once you're back." Linda said as he walked close to him. "Yeah I know." The young man replied quickly as he walked closer to the house's front door. "Catch!" David shouted as he opened the door and got out of the house while throwing the rifle at Aiden. But the black haired teenager fortunately caught the rifle before it hit him in the head. "Man who told you I was a pro at rifle-catching?!" Aiden shouted with a chuckle. "I figured such a talented man as yourself would have many hidden attributes as well!" David patted him in the back while Adam had just got out of the house himself and nodded for the two of them to follow him.
